What is PolimiRide?
PolimiRide is the first bicycle race organized by the Politecnico di Milano. The fourth edition will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, in Piacenza, on a circular route, starting and finishing on Viale Pubblico Passeggio, with the event village set up inside the Arata Campus of the Politecnico di Milano in Piacenza.
You can register for three types of races:
non-competitive 25-30* km ride;

competitive 76 km race.
The 25-30 km non-competitive ride follows a flat route suitable for all fitness levels. The 76 km rides have specific requirements for registration, which you can find in the following sections and in the official rules at the bottom of this page.
The term “race” refers to all three formats: the 25-30 km ride, the 76 km non-competitive ride, and the 76 km competitive race.

The Route

Why is the FCI daily membership required at a cost of €10 for the 76 km competitive and non-competitive ride?
PolimiRide is a cycling event organized under the auspices of the Italian Cycling Federation, which, through its federal implementation rules, defines the regulations for each race.
In this case, due to its length and elevation gain, the event is classified as a "Fondo non competitivo," which requires possession of either an annual or a daily membership card.
For those without an annual membership, a daily membership is therefore mandatory and costs €10.
The membership card and related fees are established directly by the federation.
Those who register for the non-competitive 25-30 km race will not have to purchase any supplementary insurance coverage.
Is the participation allowed to minors?
Registration for the PolimiRide 25-30* km non-competitive ride and the PolimiRide 76 km non-competitive ride for participants aged 14 to 17 years (as of the day of the event) must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.
Children under 14 cannot be officially registered but may participate in the non-competitive ride if accompanied by a parent; they will not receive a jersey or a race bib with a chip.
The 25-30 km route is accessible to everyone, including younger children.
Registration for the PolimiRide 76 km competitive race is open to participants aged 17 and up (as of the day of the event).

Is the helmet mandatory for everyone?

Where is the start? Where is the finish line?
Start of the 76 km amateur cycling race at 09:00, followed by the start of the 76 km non-competitive race and the 25-30 km non-competitive race. The departure and arrivals are from Viale Pubblico Passeggio, Piacenza. The PolimiRide Village will be set up in Piacenza Campus of the Politecnico di Milano, Arata Campus - Via Scalabrini, 113, Piacenza, where you will find all the useful services (refreshments, bathrooms, changing rooms, bag storage, bike parking).
How can I get to the Piacenza Campus ?
We recommend taking the train if you have rented a bike in Piacenza (the train station is about a 10-minute walk from the Piacenza Campus).
We strongly discourage traveling by train with your bike, as bike spaces on board are limited, and in case of emergency or overcrowding, the train conductor may deny boarding to passengers with bikes.
We will soon share all the updates regarding bike transport and travel arrangements to Piacenza.
If you plan to reach the Piacenza Campus by car, we suggest the following two parking options:
Urban Center (Stradone Farnese 126): offers uncovered parking spaces—suitable for cars with bikes mounted on the roof—and covered spaces not accessible with a bike on the roof
Cavallerizza (Stradone Farnese 39): offers only covered parking, so you will need to remove the bike from the roof before entering
How do you enter the Village and how does the departure work?
The access time to the PolimiRide Village (set up at the Piacenza Territorial Pole, Arata Campus, Stradone Farnese) is from 7:30 to 8:30; close to the race we will give you by email all the information on how to access the Village and which entrance to the campus will be used as an entrance gate. Random checks will be carried out with metal detectors at the entrance.
The collection of your race kit can be made at the Arata Campus, where all the other services will also be set up.
The starting area will be located on Viale Pubblico Passeggio where there will be the starting point of the PolimiRide 2025; Inside the starting area, the athletes must position themselves following this order:

- followed by the athletes registered for the non-competitive 76 km PolimiRide;
- finally the athletes registered for the non-competitive 25-30 km PolimiRide.
The groups will be recognizable by the color of the dorsal; in fact, each type of race (25-30 km non-competitive, 76 km non-competitive and 76 km competitive) has been assigned a different dorsal color.
The first to start will be all those registered for the 76 km race, both competitive and non-competitive; The start will be at a controlled speed (i.e. we all start together covering the first kilometer at the same speed), at 9:00 am. Immediately afterwards the participants in the 25-30 km will start.
